Klaus helped Elena. The news surprises her somehow. Not that she thinks him incapable of it, but the last time she really, really talked to Klaus he had admitted to killing Elena. And she hasn't known what to do with that since then. She misses him, she would be lying if she said that she didn't and she's never been a good liar, but Elena is her friend.
A small selfish part of her still wishes he hadn't forced her to see the truth that has always been in front of her. But now, standing in front of Elena....it seems wrong not to let her know she knows something so personal about her.
