If Wynonna is going to know the truth, then it must be whole. Elena would have done anything to protect her people, and the near-pathological need to not lose anyone else led her to empty places. If the future is to be believed, Elena goes so far as to play a big hand in Finn and Kol Mikaelson's deaths. Those deaths didn't stick, but all the same, she knows full well what she is capable of - no vampirism needed.
She is not sorry for it, as Klaus is not sorry for his own actions. There is no forgiveness for any of it, no magic wand to wave it all away. But there is a path forward, and if she has to choose between Klaus as her enemy or Klaus as her ally... she knows what her choice will be.
In other circumstances, maybe things would be different. But these are their circumstances, and the alternative would only lead to even darker corners. Klaus Mikaelson was her first war, but certainly not her last, and now there's Lucifer: it comes first.
"It's not about that. And it's not just about me. It's about Lizzie and Josie. It's about Hope. It's about all of us surviving this," she says. She hates - so much - what happened. And still, this choice she is making is objectively what is best for everyone, herself included. It's a betrayal to Jenna's memory. All of these things are true. There's enough room inside of her heart to carry them. She's strong enough to see it through.
