Homelander pulls Doc and Ray up through the ceiling, leaving the sisters in his wake. Waverly's hands come up, trying to find a way to cover the wounds. She may be attempting to keep the blood off her dress out of habit, but mostly she's just trying to keep herself from continuing to bleed.
She's also vibrating somewhere between angry and anguished so in the end, all she can manage is a frustrated:
"Well, this is officially the worst fancy dress up party ever."
"Yep. I thought Bobo's was the worst, but this tops it somehow."
Wynonna is furious and hurt and about twenty other emotions right now, but concern overrides the rest of them. They need to get out of here as quickly as possible. Wynonna has no qualms ripping off a strip of her dress and handing it to Waverly.
"Press that to your wound, at least until we make it back to the room."
Once they get back they can figure out what to do next.
Waverly nods absently, doing as she's told and pressing the material to the wound. She then turns and starts to head towards 218, though it seems much further away than it was before.
She leaves one hand on Wynonna's shoulder to steady her, before turning back to her. "I left Sara with Aiden and Diana. Can you go check on her once we're done here?"
She loves Sara, but her sister is bleeding from the neck currently -- right now she needs to make sure that gets taken care of. She wraps an arm around Waverly's waist to support her sister as she walks her back. She keeps an eye out for any trouble, and Peacemaker still in her other hand just in case -- but for now at least the coast is clear.
It's easier to focus on what needs to be done, on helping her sister than her anger or betrayal.
She lets Wynonna take her weight, and carrier her the last few feet to the door. Once inside, she makes a beeline for the couch and sinks into it, allowing her to press a hand more firmly to the wound and hopefully keep her from passing out.
"Orange juice. Vitamin-C. It'll help me replace hemoglobin." They should also probably bandage the wound first, but her brain is working out of order.
"First we need to bandage you up, then get you orange juice, and then I'll text Elena."
Wynonna is already making a b-line to her bathroom to grab the first aid supplies -- she likes to keep a stock of them since....well, it's not the first time someone has had to be patched up in this apartment.
"Did we ever figure out how becoming a vampire works? Do they have to drink all of me or is it a virus like zombies?"
Her brain-to-mouth filter is gone, unfortunately, and words keep falling out, even when her sister is gone. All she can do is let the words keep falling and hope that somewhere along the way she reaches her destination.
"Can a nephilim even become a vampire? I mean, really, we know as much about vampires as we do about angels. We really should have done more research."
"I think it's a drink all situation -- in either case, it doesn't matter, you're not turning, because Elena is going to come and she's going to heal you."
Hopefully. She shouldn't speak before talking to the other woman but Wynonna is in maximum save my sister mode right now, so everything feels like absolutes. She comes back out to the main room and brushes back some of Waverly's hair and her hand so she can clean up the wound some first before she starts bandaging it up. It twists in her stomach to think that Doc did this.
Waverly's eventually coming around to that too, her nerves worn thin over dodging demons and her friends all evening. And then, in the end, to have the person who got the closest to doing real harm being one of the people she trusted most ...
The anxiety mixes with sadness, and she looks over at her sister.
"He promised me, Wynonna."
And even though part of her knows that it wasn't his fault, the fact that he couldn't break it hurts all the same.
Wynonna is usually good at pushing past her feelings when it comes to comforting Waverly, but it's hard. Because Wynonna feels like she's at the end of her wit's rope at trying to be understanding. First Doc gets married. Then he turns his husband. Then they both attack Waverly.
How is she supposed to just look past that.
"I know. This place has really messed with his priorities lately."
Waverly nods, leaning back and letting her do the bandaging, but she's not sure what else to say. Everything is so complicated, and she knows Wynonna's feelings are also complicated.
Maybe once Elena gets here it will be easier. A third person in the room who hasn't known Doc as long or trusted him quite so much.
The one sliver of comfort Elena allowed herself throughout all this is she and Martin kept the demons from hurting Waverly, and that hope, too, is dashed to pieces. The time to let herself feel tired and furious is later.
I'll be right there.
After typing out the text, she looks over at her sleeping niece. She leans in to kiss her forehead, and to slip the blanket a bit further up her shoulders. Once Jon takes over, she quickly makes her way to suite 218.
Waverly looks up when the door opens and she offers Elena a small smile. Normally there would be something along the lines of "it's not as bad as it looks" but she isn't feeling up for faking it til she makes it. At least not right now.
"Hi."
It's small and quiet, but it's there all the same.
When Wynonna hears the knock on the door she opens it for Elena right away, pointing her in the direction of where Waverly was. There's a rush of relief at the other woman's presence.
Wynonna had bandaged Waverly up so at least the bleeding has been slowed but two vampire bites...it's not a great look.
She looks to Wynonna, shaking her head in reassurance. The two of them understand each other on several different levels, but none as intensely as that of being a big sister. "Of course. I left Jon with Lizzie. But he was worried, too."
Elena offers Waverly a small sad smile of her own. She saw her friend spend most of the evening attempting to push away those who'd have done anything to get to her. For her blood. It's more than a little crushing to be reminded not all the effort in the world prevents the brutalization. She motions to the bandage before doing anything. "Is it okay if I...?"
Waverly nods, pausing to sweep her hair up off her shoulders so that Elena has room to work. She knows she doesn't have to justify anything to her, but she and Martin had thought she was in the clear. Waverly had thought she was in the clear.
"They were waiting for me when I got here. You couldn't have known."
Because she still has to make her friends feel better, even if she's the victim.
"I tried to find him before he left the room, but he gave me the slip."
She had had a bad feeling as soon as Barbas made his announcement, given Doc's history with angel blood -- she hates that she was right. She hates more that he got his hell husband involved, and spilled Waverly's secret to him.
With care, Elena removes the bandage and that's when she sees the bite marks. For a split second, she freezes with a bruised sort of panic in her throat—but no. When she and Caroline each took one of the girls and left, Caroline was back to her self-disciplined if not heartbroken self. And Wynonna mentions a he. She looks from Wynonna and back to Waverly as realization sets in.
Some of that quiet sadness lingers in her expression as she places her hand over Waverly's neck. At first, there is only this, the steadiness of her palm against skin. But soon enough relief follows, like a stream of water trickling down parched earth. It's a cooling sort of relief, but it comes with Elena's warmth, and for a split second, Waverly will feel it, too: her deep commiseration.
Her protective affection, however useless it is now.
"You couldn't have known, either." And she means that for the both of them.
Her shoulders relax as Elena's magic washes over her, and her head clears, just a little. "We might have theorized." When Elena pulls back, she slumps back against the couch with a sigh. "It's not the first time we've seen Doc like this."
She needs to put a name to it. They need to be aware because the last time Doc was high on angel blood, so many people got hurt.
"And now his vampire-turned husband is full of angel blood too. Hopefully Homelander is stashing them somewhere where they can't hurt anyone."
Or knocking them out. She doesn't really know. She'd be lying if she said she doesn't hope they suffer a little for what happened. Wynonna never claimed to be a nice person.
Also did Elena know Doc turned Ray....well she does now.....
This is a lot. But she can add it to the growing list of things that have gone very wrong tonight and move right along. Processing is also for later. "Is your roommate going to be able to handle them both?"
A vampire is a force to be reckoned with, never mind two.
Impressive is what he is, honestly. She has no doubt that he'll be just fine, even if Doc and Ray maybe won't. But hopefully not to the point where there's no coming back.
She thinks the knot that has settled in the low of her stomach will not loosen until she checks on Doc and Ray for herself, but she does understand Homelander is the safer bet at the moment.

"He can't really get hurt except when he gets his powers taken away. It's why I recruited him."
Not just because Homelander would be strong enough to take two vampires, but because he's fairly difficult to harm as well. It was just common sense.
And if he's feeling a little bit of bloodlust tonight and takes it out on Ray and Doc....well these things happen.....
